Over 200 Mayo folk flocked to the stunning Iveagh Garden Hotel for Mayo Association Dublin’s Annual Summer Party on Thursday 5  July, which is steadily becoming the highlight of the summer scene for the Mayo diaspora.

Chairperson Julie Doyle said she was delighted to see so many new faces as well as many loyal supporters and returning friends. “It is heartening to see that we can continue to remain a vibrant and relevant organisation and this is not without great effort on our part.“

The Mayo community in Dublin enjoys our events as an opportunity to strengthen and maintain their network with one another, both social and business. So, I hope that anyone who attended our event for the first time will take those steps towards becoming a member of the Association,” Julie added.

Notable attendees on the night included Minister of State for Higher Education, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD, Senators Keith Swanick and Michelle Mulherin along with last year’s business lunch speaker Mick Crean and his brother Ciaran Crean from MicksGarage.com

The Association laid on another memorable party, offering complimentary drinks and a great selection of food from the gourmet BBQ, in addition to the unique and delectable taste of the Wild Atlantic Way provided by Noo Chocolates Ballina’s artisan chocolate makers.

Connacht Whiskey Company showcased two of their popular local gins, and their sales executive Richard Rowe mixed up some great Gin & Tonics for our thirsty guests.

A highlight of the evening was the exquisite bespoke jewellery display from goldsmith Nigel O’Reilly, whose showroom is based in Castlebar. Nigel (pictured with his wife Tracy) was delighted with the opportunity to offer our party-goers the chance to try on some of his delicately intricate fine jewels.

Two Association members at the party had participated in the construction fit-out of the hotel – Michael Geraghty, MD of Entropic Limited, provided the ventilation system while former chairman Paul Sammin from Sammin Engineering was contracted to provide the mechanical and electrical services.
