Mayo Association Dublin’s inaugural Mentorship & Networking breakfast meeting on Friday 1 March proved to be a very popular platform for Mayo’s business people in the capital to connect, network and share their experiences with Mayo students who are studying in Dublin (or who have started out on their career paths within the last five years).

We were delighted to welcome over 100 mentors and students to our breakfast event at the offices of Byrne Wallace Law Firm in Dublin, and our Mentoring & Networking Breakfast was such an outstanding success that we now plan to hold another event later in the year.

Mentors from a range of different sectors such as Legal Services, Engineering & Construction, Accountancy & Financial Services, Marketing & Public Relations and Pharma & Medical engaged and chatted with students/mentees, providing their invaluable advice and insights on their own chosen career paths, and sharing their experience and expertise.

GUEST SPEAKER OFFERS INSIGHTS

Meanwhile, our guest speaker Ballina’s Norah Patten: Scientist-Astronaut Candidate,  delivered an enlightened presentation on her own journey to her chosen career, and her experiences of mentoring. And afterwards she mingled over breakfast with our attendees.

We would like to express our gratitude to Byrne Wallace for hosting the event and for providing such kind hospitality.

Support from our members enables us to hold these events so if you are not already a member, please do join us, so we can contact you directly about becoming a mentor at one of these events in the future. It only costs €25 for life membership. Click here to join the Association online.

Students may also avail of our special offer of free three-year student membership, so please contact our secretary for details. Follow us on our social media channels and visit our website for more information.
