Tune into 103.2 Dublin City FM on Friday evening at 8pm to hear about an upcoming lecture on Michael Davitt. On his local history show ‘Looking Back’, Donal O’hUallachain will interview Eddie Melvin, President of Mayo Association Dublin, about the Association’s upcoming lecture, which will be delivered by Bernie O’Hara, one of Ireland’s leading historians who has researched and written extensively on the founder of Ireland’s National Land League.
This special evening will take place on the evening of Tuesday 28 May (starting at 7.30pm) in the Iveagh Garden Hotel on Harcourt Street. Entrance fee is just €5 and tea and coffee will be served afterwards. All are welcome to come along!
So, make sure to pencil this date in your diary and join us in remembering and celebrating one of Mayo’s famous sons, who was born in Straide on 25 March 1846 at the height of the Great Famine. This Irish Republican played a major part in shaping Ireland’s historical landscape.
