Results of our December 2021 Online Charity Auction –

The Mayo Association Dublin raised a total of €15,000 at its Online Charity Auction held in December 2021 in partnership with Gormleys Auctions. This was the first event of its kind in the Association, and it was the brain child of our chairperson, Bernardine Mac Bride Walsh, during a time when the Association was navigating its way through the pandemic and looking for new ways to connect and fundraise.

We are delighted to announce the charities that benefited from our fundraising efforts are;

  1. Western Care Association
  2. Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation (incl. Motor Neurone Disease Association via the “Hurling for Hope” campaign)
  3. Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (Mayo Leitrim Roscommon Branch)
  4. Down Syndrome Mayo Branch
  5. St Vincent DePaul West Region (Mayo)
  6. Westport Meals on Wheels, Social Services

Chairperson, Bernardine MacBride Walsh extended her sincere gratitude to all the artists and creatives who kindly donated their artworks, and to all the local businesses for their support by way of vouchers and products. It made for a very interesting auction with bids galore! Bernardine thanked the sub-committee of the charity auction as well as Oliver Gormley who kindly provided the all important cog to the wheel, that was the online bidding platform itself! She also commented, The Mayo Association prides itself in doing what it can to give back and help those most vulnerable at home in Mayo. We are honoured to support these worthy and hard working charities. These organisations, their staff and volunteers are truly unique and bring much needed supports and services to Mayo natives and families who need it most.

A sincere thank you to the people who supported this fundraiser and for the flutters and bids along the way!
